Health workforce is still tax free in 2022, how about private employees?

Minister of Finance Sri Mulyani Indrawati continued the exemption of Income Tax (PPh) for health workers (Nakes). This is stated in Minister of Finance Regulation (PMK) number 226 of 2021.
In this policy, 0% PPh for health workers will be carried out for six months from January to June 202. This means that health workers such as doctors, nurses and other supporting health workers do not need to pay taxes. . Then what about PPh article 21 or employee tax? Head of the Fiscal Policy Agency of the Ministry of Finance, Febrio Kacaribu, emphasized that the extension of the Article 21 Employee Income Tax incentive will not be continued this year. However, he emphasized that there is a better policy provided to employees through the Harmonization of Tax Regulations (HPP). None other than the widening of taxable income from only Rp 50 million to Rp 60 million. "Our employees are even more progressive than that. In the HPP Law for individual taxpayers, incentives are given with a bracket increase to Rp 60 million of income," he said in a media talk, Wednesday (12/1/2022)
