Support Workers' Wages Increase Up To 5 Percent
The Governor of West Java, Ridwan Kamil, received representatives of the trade unions for the third time at Gedung Sate, to hear and provide solutions regarding the City/Regency Minimum Wage (UMK) in West Java.
The Governor, Wednesday (29/12) emphasized that he could not change the wage policy that had been set by the Central Government. The West Java Provincial Government will continue to comply with PP 36 of 2021 as the legal basis for wages. Ridwan Kamil said that he only had the task of determining the results of the proposals from the city/district governments. If there are no proposed changes, the Governor will not correct what has been determined. Therefore, Ridwan Kamil also proposed an innovation for the wages of workers/workers with a tenure of more than one year. For those who have a working period of more than one year in accordance with statutory provisions, they must be above the minimum wage using a Wage Scale Structure whose increase can be guided by 3.27%-5% or more according to the company's ability and productivity. "So West Java, the conclusion is, for workers who have just entered according to PP 36 regulations in West Java, they do not violate the above rules. However, those that are more than one year can be negotiated with entrepreneurs, there is an increase from 3.27% to 5%. A letter from Apindo has also been received saying it will follow the wages for workers who have passed one year," he added
