Tax Voluntary Disclosure Will Be Interested
It is believed that the taxpayer's voluntary disclosure program will be in demand because of the low rates and the opportunity to be free from administrative sanctions.
To encourage legal certainty, taxpayers can only take advantage of this facility prior to legal action and investigations related to tax crimes. The government has stipulated Minister of Finance Regulation (PMK) Number 196/PMK.03/2021 concerning Procedures for Implementing the Taxpayer Voluntary Disclosure Program on December 22, 2021, then promulgated the PMK on December 23, 2021. The regulation is an implementing regulation for the voluntary disclosure program that has been stated in the Law on Harmonization of Tax Regulations (UU HPP). This program will take effect on January 1, 2022 until June 30, 2022. Monday (27/12/2021), Director of Counseling, Services and Public Relations, Directorate General of Taxes, Ministry of Finance, Neilmaldrin Noor, is optimistic that the interest of taxpayers (WP) to participate in the disclosure program volunteering will be high. The reason is, this program provides an opportunity for taxpayers to be free from administrative sanctions. "WP will also get data protection that the disclosed property data cannot be used as a basis for investigation, investigation, or criminal prosecution of WP," he said. There are two voluntary disclosure schemes. First, the payment of income tax is based on the disclosure of assets that are not or have not been fully reported by participants of the tax amnesty program. The second scheme, based on the disclosure of assets that have not been reported in the Annual Income Tax Return (SPT) for personal income tax year 2020.
