Luhut said that the Emergency PPKM issue would be extended

The Coordinating Minister for Maritime Affairs and Investment (Menko Marves) who is also the Coordinator for the Enforcement of the Emergency Java-Bali Community Activity Border (PPKM) Luhut Binsar Pandjaitan responded to the issue of the extension of the Java-Bali Emergency PPKM. Luhut didn't talk much. He only said that the spike in Covid-19 cases had been predicted beforehand.

However, it was unexpected that the spike in cases occurred so quickly. "I think it's like this, we suspected that this skyrocketing case might also happen but we didn't expect it to be so frankly this fast. But behind our understanding of this Delta variant, many don't really understand it," said Luhut via the Presidential Secretariat's YouTube channel, "No. We are just surprised, many other countries have been affected because medical science has not yet reached it," he continued. Luhut said his party was observing the economic impact of implementing Emergency PPKM. Therefore, the government will observe conditions before determining how long the Emergency PPKM will run.
